As Deputy Head of Secondary School, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the academic and pastoral direction of the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Head of School in the strategic and operational management of the Secondary School.
- Oversee the development and implementation of academic and pastoral policies aligned with the school’s vision and values.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to teaching and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, pupil-centric education.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation in teaching, learning, and student engagement.
- Represent the school at external events, meetings, and conferences, promoting its mission and values.
- Ensure the effective management of resources, including staff, budgets, and facilities, to support the school’s strategic goals.
- Support the development of a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture that reflects the Wellington values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, preferably in a school with a similar ethos and international profile.
- Strong understanding of British and international curricula, including IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff, with a focus on pastoral care and academic excellence.
- Commitment to the Wellington values of Kindness, Responsibility, Respect, Courage, and Integrity.
Preferred
- Experience in a co-educational setting.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
- Experience in leading large teams and managing complex projects.
- Fluency in a second language, particularly Mandarin.
