The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning, you will lead the school’s approach to teaching, learning, and student attainment. This role is pivotal in driving academic success and ensuring high standards of education for all students at Key Stage 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies across Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment through data analysis
  • Support staff in continuous professional development and improvement of teaching quality
  • Foster a culture of collaboration among teachers, students, and parents
  • Promote the school’s vision and values through leadership and strategic planning
  • Ensure the curriculum design supports academic outcomes and student engagement
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive school improvement and attainment goals
  • Encourage creativity and innovation in teaching and learning practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with evidence of continued professional development
  • Leadership experience at a senior level in education
  • Strong commitment to improving teaching quality and student outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse data related to student attainment effectively

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum design and implementation at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Background in leading teaching and learning initiatives
  • Understanding of arts and media education
  • Experience in driving school improvement and attainment strategies
