The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Assistant Headteacher - Director of Learning to join our senior leadership team and help drive our school forward. This is an exciting opportunity to lead learning and support the school’s strategic goals, including improving academic outcomes and promoting inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to implement the school’s strategic plan, Creating Excellence Together.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all students, including those with additional needs, reach their full potential.
- Develop and deliver staff training and professional development to enhance teaching standards and improve outcomes.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the school.
- Support the delivery of key priorities ahead of the Ofsted inspection.
- Promote inclusion and creativity in all aspects of the curriculum and school life.
- Ensure that all students are challenged and supported to achieve their best academically and personally.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a senior classroom practitioner with a track record of improving student outcomes.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of school improvement strategies and their impact on standards.
- A clear vision for promoting academic excellence, inclusion, and creativity in education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar leadership role within a comprehensive school setting.
- Familiarity with the Every Child Achieving and Thriving education white paper and its implications for school improvement.
- Experience in leading training and development initiatives for staff.
- A passion for working with students from diverse backgrounds and those facing disadvantage.
