The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion and Culture, you will lead and shape a positive, inclusive school culture that supports all students, with a particular focus on those who are most vulnerable. This is a pivotal role in a school undergoing significant growth and development, with exciting new facilities on the horizon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusion across the school.
  • Implement and monitor systems that ensure all students can access a rich and challenging curriculum.
  • Support the professional development of staff in evidence-informed teaching practices.
  • Work closely with pastoral and academic teams to ensure consistency in behaviour and cultural expectations.
  • Champion the school’s mission and values in all aspects of leadership and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement in student outcomes and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and the wider community.
  • Ensure that all policies and practices align with the school’s commitment to equity and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally in a senior or middle leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion, behaviour management, and cultural development in education.
  • Experience in developing and implementing school-wide policies and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-informed practice and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on inclusion and well-being.
  • Familiarity with the Education Endowment Foundation’s research and best practices.
  • Experience in leading or supporting transition processes for Year 7 students.
  • Background in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
