The Opportunity:
As Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion and Culture, you will lead and shape a positive, inclusive school culture that supports all students, with a particular focus on those who are most vulnerable. This is a pivotal role in a school undergoing significant growth and development, with exciting new facilities on the horizon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusion across the school.
- Implement and monitor systems that ensure all students can access a rich and challenging curriculum.
- Support the professional development of staff in evidence-informed teaching practices.
- Work closely with pastoral and academic teams to ensure consistency in behaviour and cultural expectations.
- Champion the school’s mission and values in all aspects of leadership and decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement in student outcomes and well-being.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and the wider community.
- Ensure that all policies and practices align with the school’s commitment to equity and inclusion.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally in a senior or middle leadership role.
- Strong understanding of inclusion, behaviour management, and cultural development in education.
- Experience in developing and implementing school-wide policies and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to evidence-informed practice and professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on inclusion and well-being.
- Familiarity with the Education Endowment Foundation’s research and best practices.
- Experience in leading or supporting transition processes for Year 7 students.
- Background in curriculum development and delivery.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
