The Opportunity:
As a Director of Learning - Humanities, you will lead and inspire a team of educators to deliver high-quality learning and teaching in a disadvantaged community. This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving outcomes and nurturing future leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Humanities curriculum, with a focus on History, to ensure it meets the needs of all learners.
- Support and mentor teaching staff to enhance their practice and achieve outstanding results.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Humanities department to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s overall vision and mission.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
- Work closely with other subject leaders to ensure a cohesive and impactful curriculum across the school.
- Engage with students and parents to promote the value of Humanities education.
- Ensure the effective use of resources and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Ability to teach to GCSE standard.
- Proven experience in leading a faculty and improving standards.
- Strong organisational and motivational skills.
- Experience in coaching and supporting colleagues to achieve targets.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
- Background in a faith-based or multi-faith environment.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Demonstrated success in raising pupil outcomes and attainment.
