The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Director of Learning - Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the science curriculum and driving academic excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the science faculty to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of a dynamic, knowledge-based science curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to identify areas for improvement and support.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align science education with school-wide goals and values.
  • Support and mentor science teachers to enhance their professional development and performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in science teaching and learning.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and school policies.
  • Work closely with other departments to promote cross-curricular learning and leadership development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Ability to teach to GCSE standard.
  • Proven experience in leading a successful faculty and delivering outstanding attainment.
  • Strong organisational and motivational skills.
  • Experience in coaching and motivating colleagues to achieve targets.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum innovation and creativity.
  • Leadership experience within a school or academy setting.
  • Experience of working in a faith-based or values-driven educational environment.
