The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Director of Learning - Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the science curriculum and driving academic excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the science faculty to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Oversee the design and implementation of a dynamic, knowledge-based science curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to identify areas for improvement and support.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align science education with school-wide goals and values.
- Support and mentor science teachers to enhance their professional development and performance.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in science teaching and learning.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and school policies.
- Work closely with other departments to promote cross-curricular learning and leadership development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Ability to teach to GCSE standard.
- Proven experience in leading a successful faculty and delivering outstanding attainment.
- Strong organisational and motivational skills.
- Experience in coaching and motivating colleagues to achieve targets.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum innovation and creativity.
- Leadership experience within a school or academy setting.
- Experience of working in a faith-based or values-driven educational environment.
