The Opportunity:

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join our driven Senior Leadership Team. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on student outcomes and school improvement, while preparing for headship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of whole-school priorities and improvement strategies.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher to ensure the effective implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Manage and develop middle leadership, providing guidance and support to staff across the school.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance, ensuring that all students achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and high expectations across the school community.
  • Represent the school at various events, meetings, and external partnerships.
  • Oversee the management of key operational areas, including staff development and student welfare.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s strategic vision and long-term goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Deputy Headteacher or in a similar leadership role.
  • A strong track record in driving school improvement and achieving high academic outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusivity, student success, and a collaborative working environment.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in a secondary school setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing for headship or leading a school through Ofsted inspections.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment practices.
  • Experience with leading and managing large teams of staff and students.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
