The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in driving school improvement and supporting the headteacher in leading the institution. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to shape the future of a school that values innovation, inclusivity, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee whole-school improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Support the headteacher in managing the school’s operations and deputising when required.
  • Develop and implement policies that align with the school’s vision and values.
  • Oversee key operational systems and ensure effective communication across the school community.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, governors, and external partners to deliver an ambitious educational vision.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, strong pastoral care, and staff wellbeing.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Represent the school at meetings and events, both internally and externally.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally at a senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of educational policies, curriculum development, and school improvement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Experience in managing and leading teams, with a track record of achieving results.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in either pastoral or curriculum leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
  • Demonstrable experience in driving school improvement and raising attainment.
  • Experience with data analysis and performance monitoring in education.
