The Opportunity:
As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in driving school improvement and supporting the headteacher in leading the institution. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to shape the future of a school that values innovation, inclusivity, and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee whole-school improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
- Support the headteacher in managing the school’s operations and deputising when required.
- Develop and implement policies that align with the school’s vision and values.
- Oversee key operational systems and ensure effective communication across the school community.
- Work closely with senior leadership, governors, and external partners to deliver an ambitious educational vision.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, strong pastoral care, and staff wellbeing.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
- Represent the school at meetings and events, both internally and externally.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge of educational policies, curriculum development, and school improvement strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Experience in managing and leading teams, with a track record of achieving results.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Preferred
- Experience in either pastoral or curriculum leadership roles.
- Familiarity with working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- Demonstrable experience in driving school improvement and raising attainment.
- Experience with data analysis and performance monitoring in education.
