The Opportunity:
We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a well-established and supportive department. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Graphics and Art.
- Develop and implement effective, evidence-informed teaching strategies to raise student achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental development and curriculum enhancement.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, contributing to their overall educational experience.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Design Technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Manage and maintain resources and equipment in the Design Technology department.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and events that promote Design Technology within the school and community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
- Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
- Experience in delivering Graphics and Art within a school setting.
- Evidence of effective teaching and learning strategies that improve student outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across the school.
Preferred
- Experience with AQA Design Technology or WJEC Hospitality and Catering qualifications.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental development initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with using digital tools and resources in teaching and learning.
