The Opportunity:

We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a well-established and supportive department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Graphics and Art.
  • Develop and implement effective, evidence-informed teaching strategies to raise student achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental development and curriculum enhancement.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, contributing to their overall educational experience.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Design Technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Manage and maintain resources and equipment in the Design Technology department.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and events that promote Design Technology within the school and community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
  • Experience in delivering Graphics and Art within a school setting.
  • Evidence of effective teaching and learning strategies that improve student outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across the school.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA Design Technology or WJEC Hospitality and Catering qualifications.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental development initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with using digital tools and resources in teaching and learning.
