The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic strategy across the school, with a focus on curriculum development, teaching and learning, and student progress. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the academic strategy across all year groups and subjects.
  • Develop and implement policies that support teaching and learning, with a focus on student progress and achievement.
  • Manage and support the sixth form, ensuring a high-quality experience for students preparing for higher education.
  • Analyze and interpret data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes for students.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Inspire and motivate staff, students, and stakeholders through effective communication and leadership.
  • Ensure that the school's values of aspiration, community, and kindness are reflected in all aspects of academic and pastoral provision.
  • Support the development of a strong, collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and shared ideas.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school.
  • Strong track record in improving student outcomes and academic performance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience in managing and leading academic departments or teams.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and its application in educational settings.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading sixth form provision or higher education pathways.
  • Background in curriculum development or innovation.
  • Experience with school improvement and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience in working within a large, multi-academy trust or similar organization.
