The Opportunity:

A Numeracy Teaching Assistant is needed to support students with weak numeracy skills and help raise standards across the maths department. This role involves planning, delivering, and evaluating numeracy interventions and working closely with the department and leadership team to improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with weak numeracy skills through targeted interventions and learning activities.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate numeracy programs for individuals, groups, and whole classes.
  • Monitor student progress and assess, record, and report on achievement and development.
  • Build strong working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Work proactively with the department to improve the quality of numeracy support and delivery.
  • Ensure effective behaviour management and safeguarding of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with additional needs.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Good behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting students in a school setting.
  • Understanding of child development and inclusion.
  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently.
