Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of the chemistry curriculum across all key stages.
  • Inspire and motivate students and colleagues to achieve the highest standards in teaching and learning.

  • Work collaboratively with other senior leaders and heads of departments to support school-wide priorities.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students within the department.

  • Provide effective support and challenge to students to help them reach their full potential.
  • Manage resources efficiently to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in chemistry education.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in leading a department.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in science education.
