The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Headteacher, you will play a vital role in driving school improvement, supporting staff development, and creating an environment where every pupil can thrive academically and emotionally. This is a leadership role with the potential to make a real impact on student outcomes and school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote robust safeguarding procedures in line with local safeguarding board guidance and best practice.
- Lead and coordinate the school curriculum, ensuring quality, consistency, and continuous development.
- Act as lead teacher for positive behaviour support, promoting inclusive strategies that successfully support behaviour that may challenge.
- Monitor student progress and outcomes, ensuring each learner achieves their individual targets and planned success.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including education, residential care, and clinical colleagues.
- Participate in the assessment and review of student referrals, ensuring appropriate placements and support.
- Work closely with the clinical team to oversee Behaviour Support Plans, providing guidance and ensuring plans remain effective and up to date.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A full UK driving licence
- Proven experience in middle or senior leadership within education
- A strong track record of raising standards and improving outcomes
- Excellence as a classroom practitioner across multiple key stages
Preferred
- Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities
- Experience in leading behaviour support strategies
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery
