The Opportunity:

As Head of School, you will lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of a school dedicated to supporting students with complex needs. This role offers the chance to shape a school culture, inspire a team, and make a lasting impact on student lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion outstanding academic, social, and emotional outcomes for every student
  • Lead the strategic vision, culture, and performance of the school in line with core values
  • Create a safeguarding-first culture that prioritises student wellbeing and safety
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing, motivated teaching and leadership team
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted, DfE, and statutory requirements
  • Oversee strategic planning, financial sustainability, and long-term growth

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ senior leadership experience within SEN/SEMH settings
  • Proven experience leading a special school or specialist provision
  • Extensive experience working with complex autism, including pre-verbal pupils
  • A primary education background
  • Strong curriculum leadership and assessment expertise
  • A full UK driving licence

Preferred

  • Experience in strategic planning and financial management
  • Leadership experience in a school with a similar ethos or mission
  • Experience in developing and leading high-performing teams
