Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Modern Foreign Languages lessons to students across key stages.
  • Support the development of students’ language skills, cultural awareness, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Participate in professional development and staff training initiatives.
  • Work closely with the house system to support student well-being and personal development.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Modern Foreign Languages at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in languages, with the ability to teach French and German.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and inclusive education.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at a school with a strong academic reputation.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools in language teaching.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the school’s house system and pastoral support structures.
