The Opportunity:
As a Psychology Teacher, you will lead the teaching of A-Level Psychology, develop engaging schemes of work, and raise the profile of the subject across the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the teaching of A-Level Psychology, ensuring high-quality instruction and student engagement.
- Develop and deliver stimulating schemes of work aligned with the AQA Psychology specification.
- Promote Psychology as a subject within the school and across the wider community.
- Contribute to the 'Lyceum Learning' programme and support the academic and pastoral development of a small group of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and student outcomes.
- Participate in enrichment activities and extracurricular events.
- Provide academic tutoring and pastoral support to students as required.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Psychology and incorporate these into teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Psychology at A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Psychology education.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging, innovative lessons.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and subject leadership.
- Familiarity with the AQA Psychology specification.
- Experience in pastoral care or academic tutoring.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience with enrichment activities and extracurricular programmes.
