The Opportunity:

As a Psychology Teacher, you will lead the teaching of A-Level Psychology, develop engaging schemes of work, and raise the profile of the subject across the school. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the teaching of A-Level Psychology, ensuring high-quality instruction and student engagement.
  • Develop and deliver stimulating schemes of work aligned with the AQA Psychology specification.
  • Promote Psychology as a subject within the school and across the wider community.
  • Contribute to the 'Lyceum Learning' programme and support the academic and pastoral development of a small group of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and student outcomes.
  • Participate in enrichment activities and extracurricular events.
  • Provide academic tutoring and pastoral support to students as required.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Psychology and incorporate these into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Psychology at A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Psychology education.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging, innovative lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and subject leadership.
  • Familiarity with the AQA Psychology specification.
  • Experience in pastoral care or academic tutoring.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience with enrichment activities and extracurricular programmes.
