The Opportunity:
As the Executive Assistant to the Head, you will provide essential support to the Head, ensuring the smooth running of the school and enabling her to focus on strategic leadership. This role is central to the school’s operations, with the opportunity to shape the direction of the institution and contribute to its continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the Head’s diary, ensuring all appointments and meetings are effectively scheduled and attended.
- Act as the first point of contact for the Head, handling correspondence, inquiries, and communications.
- Prepare and maintain administrative systems, reports, and documentation for the Head and Governors.
- Provide support to the Senior Management Team in the absence of the Head, ensuring continuity and effective decision-making.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including parents, governors, and local education bodies.
- Oversee the smooth operation of the Head’s office and ensure all administrative tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Monitor and report on local and national education issues, providing insights and recommendations to the Head.
- Support the Head in the development and implementation of school policies and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior administrative or executive assistant role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex and sensitive information.
- Experience in report writing and data analysis.
- Knowledge of school operations, governance, and educational policy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a high-performing independent school or similar environment.
- Familiarity with school management systems and software.
- Experience in supporting senior leadership in a strategic capacity.
- Strong understanding of the UK education sector and current trends.
