The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Headteacher - Teaching and Learning, you will play a pivotal role in raising outcomes for all pupils, with a particular focus on disadvantaged children. This is a strategic leadership position where you will champion high-quality teaching, equitable curriculum access, and targeted support to ensure every child thrives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the school’s pupil premium strategy, ensuring measurable impact on outcomes
  • Drive high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils, with a sharp focus on disadvantaged learners
  • Use data intelligently to identify gaps and accelerate progress
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and achievement for every child
  • Maintain strong oversight of inclusive provision, including SEND
  • Align work with the priorities of the Ofsted framework, particularly in Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, and Leadership & Management
  • Act as Behaviour Lead and Upper Key Stage 2 Phase Leader (Y4-6)

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm for teaching and learning
  • Organisational skills with attention to detail in monitoring pupil progress data

Preferred

  • Willingness to engage in professional development opportunities
  • Experience in senior leadership roles
  • Experience with inclusive provision and SEND support
