The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Headteacher - Teaching and Learning, you will play a pivotal role in raising outcomes for all pupils, with a particular focus on disadvantaged children. This is a strategic leadership position where you will champion high-quality teaching, equitable curriculum access, and targeted support to ensure every child thrives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the school’s pupil premium strategy, ensuring measurable impact on outcomes
- Drive high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils, with a sharp focus on disadvantaged learners
- Use data intelligently to identify gaps and accelerate progress
- Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and achievement for every child
- Maintain strong oversight of inclusive provision, including SEND
- Align work with the priorities of the Ofsted framework, particularly in Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, and Leadership & Management
- Act as Behaviour Lead and Upper Key Stage 2 Phase Leader (Y4-6)
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm for teaching and learning
- Organisational skills with attention to detail in monitoring pupil progress data
Preferred
- Willingness to engage in professional development opportunities
- Experience in senior leadership roles
- Experience with inclusive provision and SEND support
