The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Director of Philanthropy, you will lead and inspire a dynamic fundraising and engagement strategy that strengthens lifelong connections with the school and drives significant philanthropic investment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continued success of a major fundraising campaign that supports bursary opportunities and school improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a bold and ambitious fundraising strategy to ensure ongoing donor engagement and support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, donors, and volunteers to secure major gifts.
  • Oversee the management of donor pipelines and ensure the successful delivery of strategic fundraising campaigns.
  • Articulate compelling cases for support that align with the school’s mission and vision.
  • Collaborate with key school departments to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
  • Monitor and report on campaign progress, donor engagement, and philanthropy outcomes.
  • Support the development of a dynamic programme of major gifts and engagement activities.
  • Ensure the continued growth and success of the school’s philanthropy and alumnae engagement programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience in philanthropy, development, or fundraising leadership.
  • Proven success in securing major gifts and managing donor pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver strategic fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders, donors, and volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate compelling cases for support.

Preferred

  • Experience working within an educational institution or nonprofit organization.
  • Familiarity with major gift fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Experience managing and leading a fundraising team.
  • Knowledge of the UK education sector and philanthropy landscape.
