Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Design and Technology lessons that meet curriculum requirements and inspire student interest.
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and learning.
  • Support students in developing technical and design skills through hands-on projects and practical activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and share best teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and career progression.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design and Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of the Design and Technology curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take responsibility for student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Experience of delivering GCSE or A Level Design and Technology courses.
  • Experience with cross-curricular and project-based learning.
  • Experience of using digital tools and software in teaching and learning.
  • Experience of working in a faith-based educational setting.
