As Head of Health and Social Care, you will lead the development of a dynamic and inspiring curriculum that supports student growth and prepares them for future success in this vital sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Health and Social Care curriculum.
  • Support the creation and implementation of schemes of work within the department.
  • Deliver engaging lessons and learning experiences that inspire students.
  • Coordinate and lead extra-curricular and educational visits that enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and impactful departmental strategy.
  • Promote the values of the school through teaching and leadership.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continued improvement.
  • Represent the department at meetings and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading in Health and Social Care.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students.
  • Ability to design, develop and deliver a high-quality curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of Believe, Respect and Succeed.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Background in extra-curricular programme development.
  • Experience with evidence-based teaching and learning strategies.
  • Familiarity with SSAT or similar educational frameworks.
