The Opportunity:
A Design and Technology Technician is needed to support passionate teaching teams in delivering high-quality lessons. This role involves working closely with educators to ensure students receive a stimulating and effective learning experience in Design and Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff in setting up and resourcing Design and Technology lessons.
- Assist in delivering practical lessons with a focus on resistant materials such as wood, metal, and plastic.
- Provide technical and creative support to students and teachers in a dynamic learning environment.
- Collaborate with department staff to maintain and develop the curriculum.
- Ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment and materials in the Design and Technology department.
- Contribute to the development of student projects and learning outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the workshop areas.
- Support the delivery of Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 and optional GCSE and A Level.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in a creative or industrial environment.
- Experience supporting young people in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of the secondary curriculum in Design and Technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience with resistant materials such as wood, metal, and plastic.
- Familiarity with GCSE and A Level Design and Technology qualifications.
- Experience in a school or educational environment.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary up to £27,675 per annum.
- 37.5 hours per week, with 36 term time weeks plus one additional week.
