The Opportunity:

As Assistant Head of Sixth Form, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the school’s Sixth Form, supporting a growing student population and overseeing the development of a new Sixth Form centre. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fostering academic excellence, pastoral care, and a vibrant co-curricular programme in a forward-thinking, inclusive school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a thriving and inclusive Sixth Form environment with a focus on pastoral care and academic ambition.
  • Support the delivery of a broad range of academic and co-curricular opportunities, including A levels, a bespoke Diploma, and independent research.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure a strong sense of community and belonging.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Sixth Form, including the expansion of the student body and the new Sixth Form centre.
  • Promote a culture of high academic standards, intellectual curiosity, and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the vision and direction of the school’s Sixth Form.
  • Ensure all students feel valued, supported, and fully integrated into the school community.
  • Deliver a clear and compelling vision for the Sixth Form within an evolving co-educational setting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting, preferably within a Sixth Form.
  • Strong pastoral and academic management skills with a track record of student success.
  • Experience in developing and delivering co-curricular and academic programmes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in a co-educational setting.
  • Background in independent or selective education.
  • Experience with school expansion or development projects.
  • Familiarity with Sixth Form centre development or management.
