The Opportunity:

As a Senior Media Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the technical needs of the Film & Media Production and Digital Arts departments. This role is essential in ensuring students have access to the latest tools and equipment to develop their creative skills and prepare for successful careers in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage industry-standard TV and Radio studios to a professional standard.
  • Optimize and support high-spec computer suites used for digital arts and media production.
  • Provide technical support to teaching staff and students, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Mentor and guide young creatives in the use of advanced media and digital equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the technical infrastructure and support creative projects.
  • Ensure all equipment is regularly maintained, updated, and in working order.
  • Develop and implement procedures for the safe and efficient use of technical facilities.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in media and digital production.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior media or technical role within an educational or creative environment.
  • Strong knowledge of media production equipment, including TV, radio, and digital editing software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to supporting student learning and development through technical expertise.

Preferred

  • Experience in a performing arts or media education setting.
  • Familiarity with digital arts and animation tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience mentoring or training students or staff.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard audio and video production techniques.
