The Opportunity:
As a Design and Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the curriculum and enhancing the learning experience for students. This is an opportunity to contribute to a school that values creativity, innovation, and high standards in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain workshop machinery to ensure safe and efficient use by students and staff.
- Implement and enforce strict Health and Safety procedures in all aspects of the workshop.
- Support the delivery of Product Design and Textiles courses by providing technical assistance and resources.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and deliver practical learning experiences.
- Ensure the workshop environment is well-organised, clean, and conducive to learning.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of materials and equipment for lessons.
- Promote a culture of creativity and innovation among students.
- Provide guidance and support to students at all levels in the use of workshop tools and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in using workshop machinery and equipment.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety procedures in a school setting.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational environment.
- Knowledge of Product Design and Textiles curriculum.
- Experience with CAD or other design software.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students in practical learning.
