The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will support teachers in delivering engaging and impactful science lessons, helping students develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of health and safety across the science department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in delivering high-quality practical science lessons and demonstrations
• Ensure compliance with COSHH procedures and CLEAPPS requirements
• Conduct thorough health and safety risk assessments across the science department
• Maintain and manage science equipment and resources to the highest standards
• Assist with the organisation and preparation of science experiments and practical work
• Provide administrative support to the science department as required
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement science-related projects and initiatives
• Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience or knowledge of practical science demonstrations that engage students
• Up-to-date knowledge of COSHH procedures and CLEAPPS requirements
• Understanding of health and safety risk assessment principles
• Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational setting
• Knowledge of science curriculum and teaching methods
• Experience with health and safety management in a school environment
• Ability to work flexibly and independently
• Commitment to continuous professional development
