The Opportunity:
As a Science Technician, you will support teachers in delivering engaging and impactful science lessons, helping students develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of health and safety across the science department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality practical science lessons and demonstrations
- Ensure compliance with COSHH procedures and CLEAPPS requirements
- Conduct thorough health and safety risk assessments across the science department
- Maintain and manage science equipment and resources to the highest standards
- Assist with the organisation and preparation of science experiments and practical work
- Provide administrative support to the science department as required
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement science-related projects and initiatives
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience or knowledge of practical science demonstrations that engage students
- Up-to-date knowledge of COSHH procedures and CLEAPPS requirements
- Understanding of health and safety risk assessment principles
- Strong IT, administrative, and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of science curriculum and teaching methods
- Experience with health and safety management in a school environment
- Ability to work flexibly and independently
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Compensation & Benefits:
