The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Design and Technology Technician to provide high-quality technical support to colleagues in the Design Technology and Art curriculum area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious team that values innovation and excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the Design Technology and Art curriculum area.
  • Ensure specialist equipment is maintained and available for use by students and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a professional and customer-focused service.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of practical learning experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage resources efficiently.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to support the school’s educational goals.
  • Ensure a safe and well-organised environment for students and staff.
  • Support the school’s commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Knowledge and experience of using specialist DT/Art equipment.
  • Minimum of A-C / level 4 grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A belief in the power of education to enable students to achieve their potential.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Previous experience in a technical or support role.
  • Experience with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training.
  • Familiarity with United Learning’s values and mission.
