The Opportunity:

As a Design & Technology Mentor, you will deliver an engaging and rigorous curriculum aligned with the British National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. This role offers the opportunity to inspire creativity, innovation, and practical skills in a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology aligned with the British National Curriculum.
• Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking through hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
• Develop learners' skills in product design, electronics, CAD/CAM, and textiles.
• Integrate sustainability and ethical design principles into learning experiences.
• Promote the use of emerging technologies such as 3D printing and robotics in the classroom.
• Guide learners in the safe and effective use of workshop equipment and digital tools.
• Support learners in developing technical drawing, prototyping, and manufacturing skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• BA, BEd, or PGCE in Design and Technology, Engineering, or a related subject.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through an accredited route.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching the British National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.
• Experience in delivering inquiry-based and hands-on learning experiences.
• Strong understanding of design thinking and technological applications.

Preferred

• Experience with CAD software, digital fabrication tools, and workshop machinery.
• Evidence of continued professional development in education and technology.
• Commitment to embedding innovation and practical skills into everyday learning.
