Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Design Technology across Key Stages, including GCSE and A Level Product Design.
• Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
• Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain a strong departmental ethos.
• Act as a form tutor and contribute to the pastoral care of students.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Design Technology.
• Participate in the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and events.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Design Technology at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Strong knowledge of GCSE and A Level Design Technology curricula.
• Experience in teaching across a range of material areas, including Textiles, CADCAM, and Woodwork.
• Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on pastoral responsibilities.

Preferred

• Experience teaching A Level Design Technology: Product Design.
• Experience with ECT (Early Career Teacher) development or mentoring.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to use digital tools and software relevant to Design Technology.
