The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design & Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team, starting in September 2026. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development, while working in a forward-thinking and supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Design & Technology up to GCSE level, with the opportunity to teach Art to Key Stage 3
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage students and promote independent learning
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring strong examination outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues, middle and senior management to enhance teaching and learning
- Utilize ICT and new technologies to enhance classroom practice and share good teaching strategies
- Contribute to curriculum design and department initiatives when possible
- Support students in developing creative and practical skills through co-curricular and enrichment activities
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Degree in a Design & Technology specialism
- Proven experience teaching GCSE Design & Technology
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Design & Technology
- Ability to adapt and differentiate lessons to suit student needs
- Proficient use of ICT in the classroom
- Commitment to raising standards and monitoring student progress
- Experience of teaching a second subject to GCSE level (for full-time applicants)
Preferred
- Experience teaching A Level Design & Technology
- Ability to teach Art to Key Stage 3
- Prior involvement in curriculum design or department initiatives
- Competence in using digital platforms and online resources for Design & Technology
- Enthusiastic, caring, innovative and creative approach to teaching
