The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic MFL department as a Spanish Teacher, teaching up to GCSE level. The role offers flexibility with part-time or full-time employment options, with the potential to contribute to other subjects. This is a fixed-term position with a focus on student engagement, progress, and strong examination outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish to students aged 11–16, with a focus on GCSE preparation.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote student independence and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the MFL department and across the school to enhance teaching and learning.
- Monitor and support student attainment, behaviour, and attendance.
- Use ICT and digital tools effectively to enhance teaching and share best practice.
- Participate in curriculum development and department initiatives.
- Contribute to co-curricular and enrichment activities related to Spanish.
- Liaise with middle and senior management to support student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Degree in MFL (Spanish)
- Experience teaching GCSE Spanish
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Spanish
- Proven track record of outstanding classroom practice
- Ability to adapt and differentiate lessons for diverse learners
- Proficient in using ICT in the classroom
- Calm under pressure and a caring, supportive nature
Preferred
- Experience teaching French to Years 7 and 8
- Experience in curriculum design or department initiatives
- Competence in using digital platforms and online resources for Spanish/MFL
- Enthusiastic, innovative, and creative approach to teaching
- Contribution to co-curricular or enrichment Spanish activities
