The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Head of Business to lead a dynamic and successful department, with a focus on inspiring students and delivering outstanding academic results. This role offers the opportunity to shape learning and make a real impact on student progress and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across GCSE and A Level.
- Deliver outstanding classroom practice and monitor student progress to ensure strong examination outcomes.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that engage students and promote independent learning.
- Collaborate with middle and senior management to support student attainment, behaviour, and attendance.
- Liaise with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Utilise ICT and digital platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Contribute to co-curricular and enrichment activities related to Business.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Degree in a Business subject
- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Business
- Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Business
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of outstanding classroom practice
- Ability to adapt and differentiate lessons to suit student needs
- Proficient with the use of ICT in the classroom
- Confident in using new technologies to share and promote good practice
Preferred
- Prior involvement in curriculum design or department initiatives
- Ability to teach Economics to A Level
- Competence in using digital platforms and online resources for Business
- Enthusiastic, caring, innovative, and creative
- Contribution to co-curricular or enrichment Business activities
- Ability to teach a second subject
