The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Business to lead a dynamic and successful department, with a focus on inspiring students and delivering outstanding academic results. This role offers the opportunity to shape learning and make a real impact on student progress and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across GCSE and A Level.
  • Deliver outstanding classroom practice and monitor student progress to ensure strong examination outcomes.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that engage students and promote independent learning.
  • Collaborate with middle and senior management to support student attainment, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Liaise with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Utilise ICT and digital platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Contribute to co-curricular and enrichment activities related to Business.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree in a Business subject
  • Excellent subject knowledge and passion for Business
  • Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Business
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of outstanding classroom practice
  • Ability to adapt and differentiate lessons to suit student needs
  • Proficient with the use of ICT in the classroom
  • Confident in using new technologies to share and promote good practice

Preferred

  • Prior involvement in curriculum design or department initiatives
  • Ability to teach Economics to A Level
  • Competence in using digital platforms and online resources for Business
  • Enthusiastic, caring, innovative, and creative
  • Contribution to co-curricular or enrichment Business activities
  • Ability to teach a second subject
