The Opportunity:
A school is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking team. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student learning and development across KS3 and KS4. The position may also lead to the opportunity of becoming the Head of Personal Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Design Technology curriculum for students across KS3 and KS4.
- Support the designated curriculum area and monitor student progress and development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance departmental and school-wide practices.
- Develop creative and forward-thinking teaching strategies that inspire student engagement.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including pastoral and personal development initiatives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
- Experience teaching across KS3 and KS4.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or taking on a leadership role.
- Familiarity with personal development and pastoral care initiatives.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with the use of digital tools in the classroom.
