The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ education and development in a supportive and dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Design Technology curriculum for students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support the development and implementation of the curriculum in line with school and trust priorities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental and school-wide initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and improve teaching standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • Work closely with students to support their academic and personal growth.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in training and mentoring new teachers.
  • Experience with cross-curricular and project-based learning.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard Design Technology practices and tools.
  • Experience in supporting disadvantaged students.
