The Opportunity:
A Design Technology Teacher is sought to deliver a dynamic and innovative curriculum for students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role offers the potential to lead in Personal Development and contribute to the school’s mission of fostering creativity, resilience, and a passion for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Design Technology curriculum to students across KS3 and KS4.
- Support the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure continued development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
- Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.
- Stay up to date with developments in Design Technology and incorporate new ideas and resources into teaching practice.
- Work with students to develop practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
- Experience of teaching across KS3 and KS4.
- Commitment to student development and inclusion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities where appropriate.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles (e.g., Head of Department).
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Background in pastoral care or student support.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary within the main scale to upper scale range, with potential for TLR2a.
- Full-time position with 32.5 hours per week.
