The Opportunity:

A Design Technology Teacher is sought to deliver a dynamic and innovative curriculum for students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role offers the potential to lead in Personal Development and contribute to the school’s mission of fostering creativity, resilience, and a passion for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated Design Technology curriculum to students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to ensure continued development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Design Technology and incorporate new ideas and resources into teaching practice.
  • Work with students to develop practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Experience of teaching across KS3 and KS4.
  • Commitment to student development and inclusion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities where appropriate.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles (e.g., Head of Department).
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Background in pastoral care or student support.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary within the main scale to upper scale range, with potential for TLR2a.
