The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across all abilities and key stages.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all students and promote high standards.
- Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support learning.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Design & Technology curriculum.
- Promote the department through competitions, projects, and practical workshops.
- Support students’ personal development, welfare, and safeguarding.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in professional development.
- Ensure health and safety in workshops and practical sessions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A subject-specific degree-level qualification in Design & Technology.
- Ability to teach across all abilities and key stages.
- Outstanding classroom practitioner and excellent role model for students and staff.
- Experience contributing to the development of teaching strategies.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse student population and meet the needs of all learners.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Positive recommendation in professional references (minimum of two).
- Enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Further professional qualifications related to teaching or Design & Technology.
- Previous experience teaching in a Catholic school or faith-based setting.
- Experience working with cross-curricular projects or interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and procedures within a school environment.
