The Opportunity:
A part-time Design & Technology Teacher is sought to inspire and guide students from KS3 to KS5. This role offers the chance to shape the future of a dynamic department with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design and technology and committed to delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in design and technology across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Develop and maintain a stimulating curriculum that reflects industry standards and student needs.
- Manage and maintain well-equipped workshops, including CAD/CAM facilities, 3D printers, and metalworking equipment.
- Support students in achieving academic success and developing practical skills in product design, engineering, and graphics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s teaching and learning strategies.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events where appropriate.
- Stay up to date with developments in design and technology education and industry practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in design and technology.
- Experience teaching at KS3 to KS5 level.
- Strong knowledge of design and technology curriculum and industry practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D printing technologies.
- Background in product design or engineering.
- Experience with vocational and academic qualifications such as GCSE and A Level Product Design.
