The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Media Teacher to join a collaborative and well-equipped department. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced and early career teachers to make an impact in sixth form education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in A Level Media and/or BTEC Creative Digital Media Production courses.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills in media production.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and share teaching resources and best practices.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Participate in departmental events, including student awards celebrations and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in media and film education.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the department’s curriculum and teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in teaching media or film at sixth form level or willingness to transition into it with support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience with A Level Media or Film courses.
  • Familiarity with digital media production tools and techniques.
  • Experience with BTEC qualifications or similar vocational courses.
  • Background in extracurricular or enrichment activities related to media production.
  • Evidence of professional development or continuing education in media and film.
