The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join our thriving and innovative faculty. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Design & Technology, including Resistant Materials, polymers, and electronic and mechanical systems.
- Plan and implement engaging and imaginative lessons that meet the needs of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Support the delivery of AQA GCSE and A Level Product Design qualifications.
- Contribute to the development of the curriculum and extra-curricular activities in Design & Technology.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent standards and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Participate in professional development and staff training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design & Technology.
- Strong subject knowledge in Resistant Materials and Product Design.
- Experience of teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Ability to deliver engaging and imaginative lessons.
- Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Food Preparation & Nutrition.
- Experience with AQA GCSE and A Level Product Design qualifications.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular activities in Design & Technology.
- Experience in working with young people and a commitment to safeguarding.
- Experience in coaching or mentoring other staff members.
