The Opportunity:

Join a vibrant and innovative Design and Technology department that inspires students and fosters creativity. The role involves teaching across Key Stages 3 to 4 and delivering a dynamic, modern curriculum with access to state-of-the-art facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons across KS3 to KS4, catering to all ability levels.
  • Manage and maintain fully resourced workshops including wood, metal, food technology, textiles, and CAD facilities.
  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical skills through engaging, hands-on learning.
  • Collaborate with the Art Department and other faculties to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in extracurricular activities such as the Young Architect Club, Bespoke Jewellery Club, and Bishop Wand Bake Off.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies into the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Brighter Futures programme.
  • Undertake trips and events that promote learning through real-world experiences and international exposure.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3 to 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Experience in delivering a practical, hands-on curriculum.

Preferred

  • Experience with CAD, 3D printing, or other advanced design technologies.
  • Ability to teach Art or have experience in related areas.
  • Experience in leading extracurricular clubs or enrichment activities.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong Christian ethos or values-based education.
