Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons to Key Stage 5 students, ensuring a stimulating and engaging learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to co-plan, share best practices, and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed and achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject area and incorporate new ideas and technologies into teaching.
  • Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support learning.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school’s vision for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design Technology at Key Stage 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative in professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering a research-informed curriculum.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on character development and student wellbeing.
  • Experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Experience with teaching in a school with outstanding Ofsted ratings.
