The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Design Technology Technician to support the school’s commitment to innovation and practical learning. This role plays a vital part in helping students develop essential technical and creative skills through hands-on, engaging lessons and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Support students in acquiring practical skills through project-based learning and workshops.
• Maintain and manage Design Technology equipment, tools, and resources to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance the integration of Design Technology across subjects.
• Provide pastoral support and contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Design Technology education.
• Assist in the planning and execution of school events and exhibitions showcasing student work.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all Design Technology activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Relevant qualification in Design Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience working in a school or educational setting.
• Strong practical skills in Design Technology and the ability to demonstrate techniques to students.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.

Preferred

• Experience in teaching or supporting Design Technology at secondary level.
• Familiarity with CAD software and other digital tools used in Design Technology.
• Experience with the IB curriculum or international education standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
