The Opportunity:

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to staff and students across the school. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to staff and students across the school.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and Windows 11.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions across Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to users of all ages within an educational setting.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Document and track support requests using the school’s ticketing system.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in IT systems and provide training where necessary.
  • Ensure all IT systems are aligned with the school’s policies and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, SharePoint Online, and Windows 11.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with users of all ages.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Experience in providing desktop support in an educational setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and security best practices.
  • Experience with remote support tools and virtual desktop environments.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies in an educational context.
