The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic Sports Assistant to join our team for a one-year contract. This role will support the delivery of high-quality sports coaching and contribute to the development of students’ physical and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of sports coaching across a range of disciplines.
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of sporting events and fixtures.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sport to ensure the smooth running of the sports programme.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in a supportive and encouraging environment.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and excellence in sports.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s co-curricular programme.
  • Ensure all health and safety standards are upheld during sporting activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to sports activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in sports science, physical education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in coaching or working within a sports environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a busy school environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in one of the school’s core sports (rugby, hockey, football, cricket).
  • Previous experience working in an educational or boarding school setting.
  • Graduation from a sports-related course or programme.
  • Leadership experience or the ability to develop leadership skills in students.
