The Opportunity:

As an Inclusion Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs and ensuring they receive the individualised care and academic support they deserve. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on student progress, wellbeing, and continuous improvement in inclusion practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional needs through tailored interventions and pastoral care.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement individual support plans.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular updates to the Inclusion team and senior leadership.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions to enhance academic and social development.
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of school-wide inclusion initiatives and events.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and respects individual differences.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to student care.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special educational needs and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with additional needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to inclusion and a deep understanding of the principles of special educational needs support.
  • Ability to adapt teaching and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Experience in creating and implementing individual support plans.

Preferred

  • Qualifications in education, special needs, or a related field.
  • Experience with behaviour management and pastoral care strategies.
  • Familiarity with the SEND Code of Practice and inclusion policies.
  • Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on student wellbeing and inclusion.
