The Opportunity:

As a Development Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. You will provide administrative support to the Head of Development, manage donor communications, and assist with event planning and management. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the school’s mission while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Development in managing donor relationships and maintaining accurate records in the school’s database.
  • Provide administrative support for the Development Office, including managing correspondence and responding to donor inquiries.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and activities.
  • Maintain and update donor information in the school’s fundraising database.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to fundraising activities and donor engagement.
  • Manage and organise the day-to-day administrative tasks of the Development Office.
  • Ensure all communications are professional, accurate, and reflect the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and database systems.
  • Experience in a fundraising or donor relations environment, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred

  • Experience with relationship databases, such as Raiser’s Edge.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational or charitable organisation.
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and best practices.
  • Experience in event planning and management.
