The Opportunity:
The Director of Dance will lead and develop a thriving dance programme that spans both academic and co-curricular offerings. This role is ideal for an experienced and passionate dance specialist who is eager to inspire and mentor students at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of Dance at GCSE and A Level, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Teach curriculum dance across the school and support students in achieving excellent results.
- Develop and manage a variety of co-curricular dance clubs and activities, including Contemporary, Street Dance, and other styles.
- Play an active role in school productions, including on evenings and weekends.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Performing Arts department to enhance the overall programme.
- Support the development of student confidence, creativity, and performance skills.
- Ensure the programme aligns with the school's mission and educational goals.
- Promote the value of dance and its contribution to a well-rounded education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a specialist in Contemporary Dance.
- Strong teaching experience at both GCSE and A Level.
- Ability to deliver curriculum dance across all year groups.
- Experience in leading and managing co-curricular dance activities.
- Commitment to working outside of normal hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in school productions or theatre work.
- Knowledge of a range of dance styles, including Street Dance and other genres.
- Experience in pastoral care or student mentorship.
- Background in education leadership or curriculum development.
