Salary

The prorated salary for a full academic year (approximately 33 weeks @ 7.5 hours per day) is £20,057 - £21,020 per annum. Please note: The exact prorated salary for the remainder of this academic year will be calculated once a start date is agreed.

Learning Assistant - Full Time, Term Time. Support Key Stage 1 students with a passion for education and childcare.

The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction to Key Stage 1 students.
  • Assist with individual and group learning activities, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional and academic needs of students.
  • Collaborate with other Learning Assistants and teaching staff to create and implement learning plans.
  • Participate in school events and activities, contributing to the overall school community.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the welfare and development of children.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including a longer day on Mondays if required.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school environment, particularly with Key Stage 1 students.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories.
  • Experience with supporting students with additional needs.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to lifelong learning.
