The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Geography Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons at GCSE, A Level, and the International Baccalaureate. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and contribute to a dynamic and supportive academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating Geography lessons to students at GCSE, A Level, and the International Baccalaureate.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and academic success.
  • Participate actively in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve Geography curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Support student progress through effective assessment, feedback, and pastoral care.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in Geography and education practices.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Geography at GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching the International Baccalaureate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology in education.
  • Experience in a co-educational or boarding school environment.
