The Opportunity:
As Director of Development, you will lead the school’s fundraising strategy, with a focus on major gifts, bursary support, and future capital development. This is a strategic and relationship-driven role that requires strong leadership, communication, and fundraising skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with the school’s vision and goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, alumni, and key supporters, including leading major gift initiatives.
- Oversee and manage the Development Office, ensuring effective team performance and collaboration.
- Deliver high-quality stewardship and engagement activities for donors and stakeholders.
- Lead alumni engagement initiatives and development communications.
- Prepare and support the school for future capital development projects.
- Work closely with senior leadership, including the Principal, to ensure alignment and strategic impact.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising and development best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in fundraising, with a strong track record in securing major gifts.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a senior development or fundraising role.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in managing a small team and overseeing development operations.
- Strategic thinking and planning ability, with the capacity to deliver long-term fundraising goals.
Preferred
- Experience in the education sector or within independent schools.
- Familiarity with philanthropy, bursary programs, and capital fundraising.
- Knowledge of development communications and alumni engagement strategies.
- Experience in preparing and supporting capital campaigns.
